Despite tough trading conditions, First Recruitment Services, one of the South's leading independent agency groups, has reported a very healthy set of half year results.  Don Jeal (pictured), formerly of The London Stock Exchange, and now FD at First Recruitment Services said "Combined Permanent and Temporary division sales to the 30th June were up 16% on 2007's results, with pre tax profit up 20% for the same period".

Managing Director, and former BBC Job Doctor, Andrew Kaltz added "Increased sales across the board, together with four significant contract wins, have contributed to a brilliant first six months of the year.  Although some agencies are claiming to find it tough out there we expect to report additional growth and success as the year continues".

Recruitment International asked industry experts to predict the top recruitment stories for 2008. Andrew Kaltz, Managing Director at First Recruitment Services, responded...

"In 2008 the wonderful world of recruitment will continue to flourish.  Huge worldwide agencies will continue to swallow up each other, grow even larger and squash margins and revenues in the process.  More excitingly, decent regional independent agencies will continue to provide a far better, personal service, for a decent fee with better quality candidates".

Managing Director Andrew Kaltz said "2006 was an absolutely fantastic year in terms of growth and profitability.  Following the MBS, we were in an extremely strong position financially and increased sales and client acquisition has led to a further substantial leap forward.

The first quarter of 2007 is set to be another record breaker.  We have a terrific team at Head Office and throughout the branches who will continue to benefit from our further growth and success."

First Recruitment Services Holdings Limited, a new company formed to enable the buyout, has purchased the entire issued share capital of First Recruitment Services Limited.  Kaltz is Managing Director and principal shareholder of the restructured £6 million organisation, with his colleagues, Simon Galvin and Tricia Morris, remaining as Directors and shareholders in the business.  Galvin and Morris started the company in 1999 and were joined in 2002 by Kaltz with whom they had worked together for many years at Office Angels.

First Recruitment Services has almost doubled its turnover in the last three years and has grown to a network of nine branches.  Morris will continue to work in the business indefinitely.  Galvin will gradually hand over his role to Don Jeal who is promoted to Management Accountant, having joined First Recruitment Services last year following a successful career at The London Stock Exchange.
